Taking a Break

So Mark decided to take me camping this weekend so that I can relax. Reality is a little delayed for me, and so we are thinking that the reality of last weeks drama will come sweeping in this weekend, So it is best for me to be as far away from people as possible. I can be very mean! So we are going to Niobrara State Park this weekend to camp and fish, and just chill. Camping in the fall is one of my favorite things to do. We did get an assignment from my brother the herper to find a snake. I can't remember the name of the snake, but it is the one at the top of his blog, http://snakeadventures.blogspot.com . Hopefully we will come back with some great photos. Maybe we will catch something better than an old boot, maybe even a fish!

Follow up

So I went to the doctor's today, and they said that I am recovering well. They were very optimistic that we would be able to get pregnant again soon, and that it will actually end with a baby! We are going to take the weekend off so that when the emotional effect of this hits me, we will be able to relax and not worry about anything. We have had so many people call and come visit us, and we are so grateful to everyone for their concern and support. Thanks to everyone!

Miscarriage, for Real

So, Mark and I just spent another night in the ER. I began bleeding extreme amounts of blood, and I had a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. Had I known that I was just miscarrying, I wouldn't have gone to the ER, but it didn't feel anything like my first miscarriage. But, it was a blighted ovum, meaning that there was a sac, but no baby in it, and so my body was getting rid of it, as it should. We feel a little sad, but it hasn't been as hard as the first one because we have been a little distant from the start just for this reason. We have realized, though, over the past 2 days how much our family and friends do care about us, and we have appreciated all of the calls and prayers in our behalf. For now, though, we are going to sleep for a very long time! Spending our nights at the hospital is very exhausting!

Pregnancy - argh!

I just had to share some of my pregnancy frustrations with anyone who cares to read about them. A little background, I am not an emotional person. I prefer to make other people, and myself, laugh. Being pregnant, though, I have found myself crying more than puking, an to be honest, I prefer to puke.

Sunday night Mark and I were watching the Olympics, and they were replaying the events from the night before that we had already seen. So we started watching one of the PBS channels, and it was about therapists using dolphins to help children. I soon found myself telling Mark to change the channel. At first he couldn't figure out why, and then he says, "Are you crying?!" as if it were the most unbelievable thing in the world!

My conclusion is that pregnancy lasts way too long. About 6 months too long. I can't believe that I have that much longer of this!

Creighton

Here are the pictures that we promised!

Creighton's sign. This is on the side of the old gymnasium, which now houses the math department.

Creighton only enrolls about 7,00o students for the entire school. So we are really blessed that Mark was accepted.

Mark and Roslyn in front of the Hixson-Lied (pronounced lead) Science building. This is where the Pharmacy school is located.

Mark, Roslyn, and Saint Ignacios, the patron saint of Creighton. The most dominant religion in Omaha is Catholic.

St. John's Church. This is located right in the middle of the campus. Mark's professionalism ceremony took place here, as well as many other events.

The fountain is supposed to look like a flame, I think. At least, that is my best guess.

Half of the mall at Creighton. Almost all of the buildings are located on the mall.

The view of Creighton when walking from our house.

Creighton University Medical Center, also known as St. Joseph's hospital. It is a great hospital, but I will not be delivering the baby here.

Some very interesting statues outside of St. John's church. We still don't know what they are.

This is where Mark spends most of his time. The Criss science building is connected to the Hixson-Lied building, so Mark has most of his classes in this area.

The Statue is of Saint Ignacios healing a leper.
