When we had our last interview with our caseworker about a month ago, he told us that we should have a new kind of "72 hour kit." He said we should determine what we think we would need to have in terms of gear/money, in the possibility that we were chosen for a baby without much time to prepare. Well, I can now say that we are prepared! We, and by we I mean I, have been ordering the things that we needed online for the past month when I found great deals. Today we received the last item, the car seat. Now, all we need is the baby!

We actually received the extra car seat base before we received the car seat. We thought that was pretty funny! We have the formula, in several varieties just in case the baby doesn't do well with one of them, bottles, diapers and wipes, onesies, cloth diapers for anything, baby bath tub, baby soap and lotion, diaper pail, noggin nest (to avoid flat heads),

and of course the bassinet.

We also had to get a new camera, since ours quit working, after 5 years of great service. So we got an inexpensive one until we can afford a better camera later on. I wouldn't say it was a "necessity", but we felt we needed it so we can take pictures of our first moments with the baby.

If anyone knows of anything else that they couldn't live without in their first weeks home with baby, we would love to know! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
