Mark had his professionalism ceremony on September 7, 2007. At Creighton they take the oath of a pharmacist at the beginning of their schooling, instead of at the end like other schools. They do this because they think you should already be acting like a professional, so they treat you like one, and that's why the ceremony at the beginning, and not the end. They don't call the students, students, but Pharmacists, in training.
Mark taking the oath of a pharmacist in St. John's Chapel, which is right in the middle of Creighton's campus. We'll post more pictures of the chapel later.
Mark with one of his good friends Brandon Snedeger. They live directly behind us.
Mark waiting for his group photo.
This is Mark's Pharmacy class. Class of 2011. That seems so far away!
Mark and I at the Pharmacy Picnic right after the Ceremony.
Some of our friends at the picnic. The Snedeger's are on the left, Teri, Noah, Brandon, and Maeli. The Knights are on the right, pictured are Will and Amber. The Knights live a few townhouses down from us.
Doug and Lori Stewart, Mark's parents, at our farewell party that we had at Rob and Jen's house in Highland, Utah on July 1st, 2007. It was a perfect day!
Lisa, Darron, Jared, and Stacy at the party.
Amy, Ashlee, Doug, Lori, Kappy, and Autumn at the party enjoying their popsicle's.
The Robbins clan, with a couple Stewart's.
Travis and family just arriving at Rob and Jen's. We only were able to spend a few hours with them before leaving for Nebraska the next day, July 2nd.
Outside our Omaha, Nebraska townhouse, just 2 and a 1/2 miles away form the deadliest corner of Nebraska, if you know what I mean. Luckily, we live in the better part of that part of town. As our landlord put it, "These are the best of the worst", refering to the other tenets. That was how she was trying to sell us on the place. It isn't a very good picture, but it is impossible to get the entire thing, since it is 3 stories high.
The garage. and the replacement for the truck. We still miss the truck, but this is a little more family friendly.
Our laundry area, just inside from the garage. No fire hazards here!
We are lucky enough to have extra room for our storage. We even fit all of our extra business stock in the gray bins.
Here is our tornado shelter underneath our basement stairs. We had a couple tornado warnings and watches a few months ago. We figured it would be more comfortable to have something to sit on, that's why the bean bags.
Mark showing off the dining room, as you come to the second floor, and his Creighton pride. I am still disappointed that the mascot is a bird, supposedly a Blue Jay, that looks as if it is 90 years old and skinnier than a rubber chicken. When we moved in the first thing Mark's dad, Doug, did was to move the light higher. I think he only hit it once with his head before deciding it needed to be moved it up.
Here is our cluttered kitchen. We were getting ready to have some friends over for dinner/Family Home Evening.
The downstairs bathroom. Very exciting.
The view of our living room as you enter from the kitchen/dining area.
This is our living room as you head up the stairs to the third floor. We still have our ever changing entertainment center. It was green when we got it, then white trimmed in blue. It is a very versatile piece of furniture. Thanks, Darron and Jamie!
Third floor. Our bedroom. It looks very different now, as we rearrange, trying to figure out where to put a crib(s).
Our bathroom. Also very exciting.
Here is our guest bedroom. We call it our ethnic room, since this is where we will eventually have all of our mission stuff.
Our office. Obviously not our top priority for unpacking!
Dad (Steve) and Mom (Mickey) had to give up their pups because they didn't have a place that they could keep them. We miss them so much, so we decided to put some of our favorite pictures up of Sophie, the westie, and Gabby, the daschund.
We call this the weannie roast. They loved to lay in front of our heater, and whenever they got too hot on one side, they would roll over to the other side.
It has really been a long time since we updated this. So we decided to catch up on a few things that were missed. Since we have missed so much, we thought it best to start with Easter 2007.
Here is Ginny finishing up the traditional Bunny Cake with Grandpa Steve and Grandma Mickey in the back. The cake was a little different this year, because everyone wanted a chocolate cake, instead of carrot cake. The general opinion was that it tasted like an Almond Joy.
Here are Savannah and Andrew getting excited to hunt eggs in Granddad and Grandma Robbins' back yard in their Provo place.
Grandma Mickey getting ready for the Easter dinner.
Autumn also was very excited to hunt for eggs. She found so many!
