Philanthropy - not so free

We were just looking up some of the known wealthy members of the LDS church to compare what they did with their money in contrast to what the wealthy of the "world" does with theirs. The findings were interesting, but that is not what this blog is about. Although, we did find that they are more giving than the rest of the world. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been recognized by many as great philanthropists, yet they have around 6 multi-million dollar mansions throughout the world, not to mention the many other extravagances they do/have. Whereas, the LDS people that we searched, such as John M. Huntsman and J Willard Marriott, gave much of their money to charities, and spent less on mansions. So, you are probably wondering where all of this is going. We don't want to speculate as to who is the biggest giver, but we did want to find out for ourselves who that may have been. We visited the site claiming to be the newspaper of the Nonprofit World, The Chronicle of Philanthropy. We joked that it would be funny if we had to pay to read the articles. Funny thing is many of the articles that you may want to read, guess what, you have to pay for them. We thought that pretty ironic being "The Newspaper of the Nonprofit World" , and thought we share it with the world. Here is the web address if you want to take a look at it yourself. http://philanthropy.com/

Pictures of Our Sweet Baby!

Our newest addition, Roswell! We got her from a small dog rescue that is about 1 1/2 hours from Omaha. She is a sweet puppy, and a momma's girl already.

Her 1st bath! She smelled pretty badly of dog. She didn't like the bath so much, but afterward you could tell that she was really happy to be clean!

New Pup!

We got our new puppy! Her name is Roswell, and she is already feeling quite at home with us.

Professionalism Ceremony at Creighton

Mark had his professionalism ceremony on September 7, 2007. At Creighton they take the oath of a pharmacist at the beginning of their schooling, instead of at the end like other schools. They do this because they think you should already be acting like a professional, so they treat you like one, and that's why the ceremony at the beginning, and not the end. They don't call the students, students, but Pharmacists, in training.

This is Mark's Pharmacy class. Class of 2011. That seems so far away!
