24 weeks!

I finally made it to 24 weeks!  This feels like such a huge milestone for me, knowing that Max's chances of survival have gone up dramatically if he does come early.  We're still planning to have a full term baby, but we are very excited that he has stayed in there this long.  We have even started getting a few of the necessities for babies, since we have finally made it this far.  I had my pictures taken today, and I am posting all three because I can't decide which looks the least horrible.

Keep in mind that there is a uterus in there the size of a soccer ball!

Mark has been much more excited now that we have gotten this far, too.  We have the car seat installed so that we can actually bring him home whenever he does decide to come.  I know that seems premature, but I am a planner, and we want to be ready for anything.  I have also painted some things for Max's nursery that Mark needs to hang up.  No worries, it was acrylic paint, so no fumes to worry about for the pregnant mom!

I ordered some stars to finish a birthday wall-hanging project that I have been working on.  The stars were not the right ones, and it would have cost more in shipping to send them back than the actual stars were worth, so I came up with this idea.  We have really high ceilings, like 10 feet, so I painted the stars a gold/yellow color, and then painted them with a glow in the dark paint.  Then I tied them to clear push pins with fishing line, and Mark hung them up on the ceiling.  I have to say, I think it looks pretty cool, especially when you turn off the lights!

My Mom came down for a week right after my surgery and such to help me adjust to bed rest as well as take care of me since Mark has been working a lot to pay for all of the bills, and take advantage of this time to work before Max is born.  For those that don't know my Mom, she is the garage sale/consignment queen!  She can always finding awesome things at great prices.  While she was here, she found this great painting at Goodwill to go in Max's room for $1!  It looks really cool in the room, as you can see it hanging on the wall in the previous picture.

My mom found this for $1!

She also went to a few garage sales, and found a bunch of really nice clothes and cute shoes for Max, as well as a really nice nursing cover, a baby sling large enough to fit Mark, and a really cool lamp with shells on it for Max's room.

My Mom didn't like Polly very much because she sheds hair like crazy, and because she is so super hyper that she still jumps, even though we have been trying to get her to stop for most of her life.  So it was funny to look over and see Polly slowly inching her way towards my Mom until she had her head resting on my Mom's lap.  I told my Mom, the more she dislikes Polly, the harder she will try to win your affection.  Too funny!

Since I am on bed rest for the foreseeable future, I have been ordering the few things we need for Max on Amazon.  I think I am wearing out the UPS guy.  Maybe I should make him some cookies.  Wait, have Mark make him some cookies.

Mark is doing amazing considering all he is having to take on with my forced laziness.  Not only is he working more hours, but he is also doing the housework and taking care of me.  He is actually as tired as me these days, poor guy.  I found a really nice oak dining table with two chairs on Craigslist yesterday for only $100, and all it needs is to be refinished.  It extends to 9 feet with 2 leafs.  Mark got it for me, carried it in by himself, and put it all together.  His only comment was that it was REALLY heavy.   The man is amazing!
