Huh?!

I was sitting here thinking (I do that when I am avoiding homework!) and I had another "news flash" in my brain. I came to the painful realization that I have spent the majority of my life completely clueless. The sad thing is, I will probably continue this way for the rest of my life. Not that I choose to, it just comes to me naturally. I'm lucky like that! I often have conversations with people, and then a few weeks later it hits me what the conversation was really about. Although I was half of it, I had no idea what was actually being "said".

I am sure Mark is wondering what brought this on, so I had better explain. I was taking a trip down memory lane in all my thinking, back to when we actually remembered our age, and reminded everyone else of it, too. I look at all the people that I knew, or thought I knew, and I realize that I really didn't know them at all. I knew what they looked like, I could probably recognize their voice, but I really had no idea what any of these people were really about.

This whole thought process made me realized how prejudiced I really am. I take a few experiences and form an in-depth, and inaccurate, opinion about almost everyone I meet. Still do, although I try to get to know people better now than I did before.

Conclusion: No wonder I was a loner back in the day! I chose that. Sigh...

Huskers Game

Soooo, what a fun game! Actually, it could be considered a really great party. It was so much fun!

This first picture is of the Memorial Stadium as we approached from the freeway. We couldn't help but get excited when we came up the hill and saw the stadium!

Closer view of the stadium.

Mark with the Wilkinson's. Pres. Wilkinson is our branch president, and I work with Sis. Wilkinson in the primary. We love them so much! They were kind enough to let us tag along to the game.

Mark in front of the sea of red with the Outback steakhouse blimp in the sky behind him. Apparently everyone was supposed to wear black shirts to the game, and it was going to be a blackout. We, along with most everyone else, did not get the memo.

My big head at the stadium.

The Nebraska flag. Before the game even begins they have the band play, pull out the flag, and all kinds of other stuff. They also had 2 Marine Corps helicopters fly over. What a fun night!

They would start playing music over the speakers, and then people would start dancing, so you could feel the floor bouncing, even though the stadium is concrete.

This is the band playing before the game started.

We are soooo excited!!!

So, we probably shouldn't be this excited, but we can't help it! We are going to our first Huskers game tomorrow! They are playing Virginia Tech. Football here in Nebraska is huge. Every Friday night every news station spends at least 30 minutes covering the High School games! So you can imagine what the Huskers game will be like. We hear that it is crazy fun! Our branch president and his wife invited us to go, and we are so grateful. Tomorrow we should be posting pictures of us at the game. If anyone is watching on ABC, look for us!

Scrapbooking Blog

So, I started a new scrapbooking blog. I figured that I should keep one going, since I have a scrapbook supplies business. Any way, as fun as my life is, ha ha, I don't always have great things to scrapbook, so I am in need of help! So, if anyone has any scrapbooking or even just crafty projects that they would like to share with me, that you are okay with me posting on my blog, please do! I appreciate any help possible! I know some of my friends and family are into scrapbooking, knitting, etc. So if you have anything, new tricks that you have tried and liked, or even just something that you want to share, take a picture or scan it in and email it to me, and I will get it on the blog! Eve if it isn't quite finished! Thanks in advance for all those projects that I know everyone is going to send me! Here is a picture of one of my half finished projects of Mark's grandfather Stewart.

Happy Birthday to Me!

So, my 27th Birthday was yesterday. I am amazed at how many people remebered me, first of all, and how many said "Happy Birthday." I felt so loved! My friend, Erin, started the morning with birthday cupcakes, and boy were they good! Then I cleaned the entire house, and that was wonderful, since I love the feeling of a clean house. Then Mark took me out when he got home from school. It was a really great day!

Mark took me to Texas Roadhouse! It just opened last week, and we have never been there, so we decided to try it. Thanks, Mark! It was a great evening!

Me, in front of the restaurant. The jacket I am wearing in the picture was sent to me from my parents for my B-Day. Thanks, Dad and Mom!

Non-alcoholic, I promise! This is just the fanciest cherry lime-aid that I have ever had! It was delicious!

Mark and I. Yes, that does say outhouse over our heads!

They have fun, Texan, decorations, and on our way out we noticed this snake. I thought that my brother, Robby, would appreciate this!

Mark's First Test

Well, Mark took his first test of the semester today!  Everyone that is ahead of him in school keeps telling him how hard the second year of Pharmacy school is, and that he is going to have to stay stuck to the books!  Well, he took his first test today and did very well.  We appreciate all the advice, because he studied for a very long time.  I can't wait to have my husband back for next summer.  He took a little time off yesterday so that we could go to the Olive Garden for Anniversary, then he was back to studying.  Sigh, I just have to wait 8 more months!

Camping in Niobrara

So we went camping at the Niobrara State Park in northern Nebraska this weekend. The state park is where the Niobrara River runs into the Missouri River, and the shimmering waters surrounding us were breathtaking. We'll try to get some video loaded. It was very pleasant for the most part, but then the winds picked up, and made most activities very difficult. IE, I was trying to make sandwiches for lunch, and we ended up with condiments on all sides of the bread, which was unplanned! So here are a couple of the pictures and a video of our adventures.

Mark in the tent on Saturday morning. We had such a great view of the park! This tent was great because we could see the stars from all angles, and ther were so mannnnny!

My punie fish. The worm was almost as big as the fish! Mark's was quite a bit bigger, but we didn't get a picture.

Funny Dog!

So I have been babysitting a little girl in our branch on and off since she was just a little thing, 2 months old. She is now 9 months, and I have had her today for the first time in a while. Roslyn, our dog, thinks she is the most fascinating thing in the world, and will not leave her alone. I have been getting on to her about it, and I caught her just a little while ago picking on her (licking, sniffing, and such). So I got on to her again, and so she went to pout...in the baby's chair!
