More of Flagstaff

A few weeks ago we found a trail and took the dogs on a hike up one of the mountains here.  They loved it!  They found a horny toad on the trail and Ros chased it off the trail and kept trying to get it.  She would stick her nose down at it, and then would jump back because it was snapping at her.  It was quite funny!  Then on the way back she remembered where it was and drug Polly over to it to find, but it was gone.

Mark trying to get the dogs to come.

Just before the dogs wrapped themselves around Mark's legs.

We see tons of classic cars like in the following picture all around Flagstaff.  The other day we saw a Black Ford Coupe with red and orange flames for sale.  We were tempted to buy it, but were unsure whether it had latches for ca rseats, you know, for the eventual coming of bambinos.
  No, I'm not pregnant.

This was back when Mark was studying for the NAPLEX, and Polly was always there to help him study!

Our new favorite park, Buffalo Park.  The area where these trees are is where we want to eventually build our dream home.  It's so beautiful here!

Buffalo Park again.

More Buffalo Park

More Buffalo Park

And just because it is so fabulous, even more of Buffalo Park.

We found this really lame National Park.  It is called Sunset Crater National Park.  From the name of it, you would think that you could hike up to the crater, right? Wrong!  You can drive around it, walk around it, and take pictures of the base, but you can't hike up it to look in.  Again, I say LAME!

There is a crater next to Sunset Crater called Lennox Crater, there you CAN hike up the top, but it is far less exciting than I imagine the Sunset Crater to be.  Behind Mark is the San Francisco Peaks, which are absolutely beautiful.

Lennox Crater again

The trail heading down Lennox Crater.  I put so many pictures of the Crater on here so that none of you have to waste your time hiking up to it, which is a very difficult hike!

This is the fabulocity that they allow you to see, at the base of Sunset Crater.

This is as close as you can get to the Sunset Crater.  Again, Lame!

This is how the dogs wait for me to come home.  Roslyn climbs up on the back of the chair so that she won't get stomped on by Polly, which happens frequently.

Today we tried to hike up to Crater Caves.  If you notice where the dogs are, you will see that they are in the shade.  We had to turn around at this point because Polly was about to pass out.  On the way down they would run to a shady spot, then collapse until we caught up and passed them, then they would run to the next shady spot.  Silly dogs!  We plan to actually finish the hike another day, without the dogs.

Handsome Mark.
And that is a little more of Flagstaff!
